Granny's Cake

This is the cake recipe my grandmother has been making for 20 years and I've also been using it for more than 10 years. It's our favorite recipe, because is very delicious, moist and easy to prepare. You can sprinkle some chopped nuts on the top of the cake, but it is optional.

Ingredients

Egg
2 pieces
Sugar
150 g
Sunflower oil
3 tbsp
Vegetable oil
3 tbsp
cherry jam is our favorite
Buttermilk/Youghurt/Kefir
500 ml
or 2 cups
Baking soda
2 tsp
White flour
400 g
Chopped Nuts
0.5 cups

Step by step

Step 1

Beat well the eggs and sugar in a bowl.

Add the sunflower oil, mix well.

Add the buttermilk.

And the jam.

Pour the baking soda and mix.

Add the flour and stir well until smooth.

If the batter is too moist add some flour, but if it's to thick, add more buttermilk.

Pour the batter into a baking sheet(11 x 12 inches, use something similar). Don't forget to line the pan with parchement paper.

Sprinkle some chopped nuts on the top of the cake, if you like.

Bake the cake at 180C degrees for 35-40 minutes.

After removing the cake from the oven, let it cool slightly in the pan.

Then you can cut the cake into equal parts and serve it.

It's very easy to cook but it's a moist, fluffy and delicious cake.
