Make your kids happy by trying this Italian chocolate Easter egg cake together. I promise you'll all thoroughly enjoy making and eating it. My children absolutely loved it and were so impressed. It's perfect for an Easter meal and a creative way to use up leftover chocolate eggs.
This cake is extremely easy to prepare with basic ingredients, requiring only 5-10 minutes before it's ready to bake. Initially, I worried the eggs might lose their shape, but they remained perfectly intact within the cake.
Mix 120g of softened butter, 120g of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract in a bowl.
Then add 2 eggs, one at a time, mixing the batter well after each addition.
Finally, add 150g of flour and 10g of baking powder, mixing until no lumps remain.
The dough will have a consistency similar to thick sour cream.
Line a baking tray approximately 26cm in diameter with parchment paper.
Use a spoon to transfer all the dough to the prepared pan.
Spread the batter evenly across the entire surface.
Place the chocolate eggs on top and press them gently into the batter.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 30-35 minutes.
Allow to cool completely before optionally decorating with powdered sugar.
Cut into portions and serve.
Enjoy your meal!
