This would be the American version, of course there are others, but the base remains eggs and potatoes in the same amount. As simple as it is, we didn't have high expectations, but we all liked it a lot.
I definitely recommend you to try it, it is cheap, fast and unexpectedly good. In the lighter version you can dilute mayonnaise with a little creamier yogurt.

Boil the potatoes and eggs, peel them and let them cool well.
Then cut them into larger cubes, put them in a deep bowl.
In another smaller bowl put the finely chopped onion - I made it on the robot.
As well as cucumbers, cut very finely and add over the onion.
Mix mayonnaise with onions and cucumbers.
Then pour this mixture over the eggs and potatoes.
Season with salt and pepper, mix well.
Put the salad in a box with a lid and put it in the fridge for at least 6 hours, I left it overnight.
This time is mandatory, it is not served immediately, because it tastes much better after the refrigerator.
Serve it on a large or individual plate (here I used a kitchen ring).
