Chocolate banana cake

Chocolate banana cake

The cake is soft, fluffy, with intense chocolate flavor, plus with a glaze that actually melts in your mouth. The ingredients are simple, easy to prepare and fast .

I recommend you to try it, is very delicious.

Ingredients

Sugar
400 g
White flour
245 g
Baking powder
1.5 tsp
Baking soda
1 tsp
Salt
0.5 tsp
Egg
2 pieces
Bananas
2 pieces
Water
240 ml
warm water
Vanilla Extract
1 piece
Butter
14 g
1 lingura de unt
Cacao powder
75 g
Milk
120 ml
Sunflower oil
120 ml
or another flavourless oil
Dark chocolate
200 g
Heavy cream (32% fat)
170 ml

Step by step

1

Preheat oven to 180 C.

Whisk all dry ingredients - the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cacao powder and salt.

2

In another bowl mash the bananas.

3

Add the eggs and mix well.

4

Then add warm water, sunflower oil, milk and vanilla extract - whisk all together.

5

Mix together dry ingredients and wet ingredients until combined. The batter will be quite thin.

6

Butter or spray a 23x33 cm pan or one with 28 cm diameter.

7

Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 35 to 40 minutes.

8

You can check if it's cooked by inserting a toothpick in the center of the cake. If it comes out clean you can remove it from the oven and let cool.

9

Now it is ready for frosting with ganache.

10

Chop the chocolate in a heatproof bowl.

11

Heat the cream and butter in a medium sized saucepan over medium heat until reaching boiling point.

12

Immediately pour the boiling cream over the chocolate and let it stay for 5 minutes, then stir until smooth.

13

When Ganache has completely cooled, beat until soft and fluffy.

14

Spread the frosting on top of the cake. Put the cake in the refrigerator for 30-40 minutes.

15

Then serve it with your favorite drink.

Bon Appetit!

Good for a beginner and easy to make, but the result is not too brilliant. I wish it had more of a banana taste and less of chocolate, but I think adding more banana would change the thickness of the dough. Any suggestions?

Also, in the US, cream is easy to find, but nearly impossible in Romania, so I replaced with sour cream. The ganache came out too thick. What did you use for cream?

Thank you for the recipe :)

The result is brilliant but not what you expected, first off all this is a chocolate cake - try to cook Banana Bread, is more banana flavour and no chocolate.
In Romania I buy "La Dorna" cream(a blue-red tetrapak) - you can find it everywhere, in Carrefour markets I found it. Sometimes I bought President Cream or Milii, ZuZu, but my favourite is La Dorna.
