Lebanese Cabbage Salad (Malfouf Salad)

Lebanese Cabbage Salad (Malfouf Salad)

If you want a little variation from the classic cabbage salad, I recommend trying its Lebanese version. Of course, it's somewhat more interesting, richer in flavors and colors, but definitely delicious and nutritious.

You can serve it as such or with any vegetable garnish or meat, but it also works very well in the homemade Falafel or Shawarma.

Ingredients

White cabbage
500 g
Green onions
1 piece
Fresh parsley
1 bunch
Garlic cloves
2 pieces
Lemon
0.5 pieces
Extravirgin olive oil
50 ml
Salt
0.5 tsp
to taste
Dried mint leaves
1 tsp
or a few fresh mint leaves

Step by step

1

Prepare, clean and wash all the ingredients for the salad.

2

Cut the cabbage into thin slices using a knife or a mandolin grater.

3

Press it lightly with your hands.

If it's new, spring cabbage, don't insist. For winter cabbage, I recommend you press it better, as it's tougher and denser.

4

Move the cabbage into the bowl, add the finely chopped parsley and onions.

5

In a small bowl, prepare the salad dressing - combine oil with juice from half a lemon, salt, dried mint and crushed garlic.

6

Mix well, serve immediately and savour.

Enjoy!
