This is a straightforward and simple recipe. Honestly, I hadn't thought of making it before, but I recently discovered how flavorful and delightful these simple oven-baked mushrooms can be. They are quick, healthy, dietary, and delicious.

You can serve these mushrooms with almost anything—whether as a side dish, main course, appetizer, or whatever else suits the occasion. I often prepare them as an appetizer for guests who are fasting or vegetarian. 

Ingredients

White mushrooms
1 kg
note that they shrink by about half during baking
Olive oil
2 tbsp
   
Salt and pepper
1 tsp

Step 1

Wash the mushrooms thoroughly and clean them well.

Preheat the oven and lightly grease the baking pan with a little oil.

Spread the mushrooms in the pan, making sure they're in a single layer—avoid overcrowding.

Place the pan in the oven—you’ll notice the mushrooms release water and shrink. To speed up the process, carefully drain the excess liquid midway through cooking.

Continue baking until the mushrooms start to brown. Occasionally remove the pan and shake it to ensure even browning, or stir them with a spoon or spatula.
