				Step by step

	Step 1

Start by melting the butter in a pan.

	Step 2

Stir in the flour, sugar, and oatmeal, then allow the mixture to cook for 2-3 minutes.

	Step 3

Take the pan off the heat and add in the chopped walnuts and cinnamon.

	Step 4

Mix everything together to form a slightly sticky yet crumbly mixture.

	Step 5

Next, cut the pears in half and core them.

	Step 6

Hold each pear half in your hand and use your other hand to press a handful of the crumble mixture onto the pear's surface.
Using a spoon for this might seem easier, but you may find it more challenging as the crumbs can scatter.

	Step 7

Arrange the pear halves on a baking tray, lined with baking paper.
You'll notice I've also prepared some halves using apples.

	Step 8

Bake in a preheated oven at 160 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes.
Monitor the baking process. The crumble should turn a golden brown, but the pears or apples should not fall apart. A good way to check is by piercing them with a toothpick. If it goes in easily, they're ready.

	Step 9

In my experience, the pears baked perfectly. The apples were thoroughly baked as well - this will depend on the apple variety you use for baking.

	Step 10

You can serve these warm or cold. They pair well with a scoop of ice cream, though this is optional.
Bon appétit!
